SAIC Student Virtual Installation New Media 2015

A collective virtual installation, made by the whole class.

Architecture and other urban spaces such as parks and landscapes have always been a source of awe in the history of painting. What’s different about 19th century painters is their attention to looking at space itself, and capturing the depth and all of the specific detail of an area. This project explores that space, imagining who and what might actually populate that empty space, what would take place there, and what it would sound like.

My contribution, Saverio Caponi on Jean-Victor Bertin (2015), is shown above. The Romantic App was created by the Virtual Installation class taught by Claudia Hart in Fall 2015, at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Film, Video, New Media, Animation.
